Sejenis kad telekomunikasi yang disambungkan melalui PCMCIA II atau III slot pada laptop untuk dihubungkan ke rangkaian telekomunikasi GSM...

Contoh: Nokia Card Phone

QUOTE
Your notebook is a lot more mobile with the Nokia Card Phone. It is a small, integrated mobile phone which combines data functionality with truly mobile accessibility. This means wireless fax and data access, email, and even internet and intranet access at speeds of up to 43.2kbps.

Full-fledged integrated mobility
Designed for mobile business users, the Nokia Card Phone provides data and voice functionality without time and place restrictions1
Use it with a notebook for wireless fax and data access, access to email, and even internet and intranet access at speeds of up to 43.2kbps
The Nokia Card Phone supports 14.4kbps data speed in a single timeslot. The new HSCSD (High Speed Circuit Switch Data) feature with multiple timeslots allows data download speeds of up to 43.2kbps with three timeslots, which is comparable with a 56k analog modem
The Nokia Card Phone integrates most of the functionality of a mobile phone and data card when combined with a notebook (PCMCIA II or III slot) or network computer. This way, you can easily gain mobile access to your company database, order entry, inventory availability information, delivery schedules, pricing details and more
Plus, it supports RS-232 serial connectivity, which makes it the ideal solution for vertical and industrial applications like telemetry, meter reading, vending machines, traffic management and POS terminal.

Feature-packed solution
The Nokia Card Phone operates on a corporate-wide standard solution for mobile office, independent of existing mobile phones. Plus, it works with many corporate software solutions. And features an easy-to-use Windows User Interface
Enjoy virtually seamless roaming between networks even during a call. That's because the Nokia Card Phone can be used in GSM 900, GSM 1800 and GSM 900/1800 Dualband networks
The Nokia Card Phone also supports speech, data, fax and SMS over GSM networks
GSM full rate Voice Codec gives crisp, clear sound and hassle-free communication

Dimensions
Volume: 38cc
Weight: 60g
Measurement: 124mm x 54mm x 10mm

Sekarang ni kurang mendapat sambutan... Sbbnya, elok beli h/phone dan connect melaluinya, guna h/phone boleh cakap, kalau pakai card phone susah sket, kena cakap pakai mic dan speaker pada laptop tuh...

Harap membantu...

sbg tambahan kpd maklumat ttg modem gsm
apa itu gsm?

QUOTE
GSM (Global System for Mobile communication) is a digital mobile telephone system that is widely used in Europe and other parts of the world. GSM uses a variation of time division multiple access (TDMA) and is the most widely used of the three digital wireless telephone technologies (TDMA, GSM, and CDMA). GSM digitizes and compresses data, then sends it down a channel with two other streams of user data, each in its own time slot. It operates at either the 900 MHz or 1800 MHz frequency band.
GSM is the de facto wireless telephone standard in Europe. GSM has over 120 million users worldwide and is available in 120 countries, according to the GSM MoU Association. Since many GSM network operators have roaming agreements with foreign operators, users can often continue to use their mobile phones when they travel to other countries.
