Soalan
Assalamualaikum ....
cara nak buat crosscable tu ramai lah orang tau ... aku pun kira boleh la nak buat plan plan .... tapi yang aku nak tanya dan kemukakan ni lain sikit ....
semalam aku ade jumpa sorang ni ... melayu ... malaysian top programmer ... kalau tanya jabatan kerajaan kebanyakan kenal brother ni ... handal programming ... tak terhingga handalnya ... networking problem banyak dia bleh selesaikan ... dia kata
"crosscable ada yang 10base dan ada yang 100base "
memang ade ke ?? iskk kalau memang ada tolong la sape tau ajo aku dan kawan kawan yang blom tau lagi cara nak susun wayar tu kat sini ...
JAWAPAN:-
Ikut EIA/TIA beginilah adanya :-
Cat 1=no performance criteria.
Cat 2=Rated sehingga 1MHz (pakai untuk wiring telefon)
Cat 3=Rated to 16MHz (Ethernet 10BaseT)
Cat 4=Rated to 20MHz (Token Ring dan 10BaseT)
Cat 5=Rated up to 100MHz) (100BaseT -FastEthernet dan 10BaseT Ethernet)
Kalau switch/NIC kita pakai 100Mbs tapi cabling kita pakai Cat3 maka rasanya dapatlah sambungan 10Mbs.
Kadang2 diff spec with lower CPU mempengaruhi speed capaian sambungan.Kalau betul teori dia boleh kita kongsi bersama
PART 2
Saya kurang pasti kenapa tapi rasanya beberapa kali saya jumpa dalam documentation tentang perkara ini.
Contohnya cuba rujuk :-
http://www.makeitsimple.com/how-to/dyi_crossover.htm
quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
*Note: Even though pins 4,5,7, and 8 are not used, it is mandatory that they be present in the cable
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
dan juga
http://www.linksys.com/faqs/default.asp?fqid=20
quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Only wires 1, 2, 3, and 6 are used by Ethernet networks for communication. Although only four wires are used, if the cable has 8 wires, all the wires have to be connected in both jacks.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pasal Cat6 pulak rasanya teknologinya masih baru lagi dah harga pulak tak setimpal.
Bezanya rujuk bawah :-
quote:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Cat6 is better cable, and it?s true the TIA/EIA spec has not been finalized yet, however, Cat6 is more expensive and comes with a lot of vendor hype. In reality, Cat6 won?t buy much for you. The electrical characteristics are better for increasing signal strength while reducing noise within the cable. However, the advantage for this may never be realized within the scope of today?s applications. The best cable you can buy for the money is Cat5e. Here are the differences:
The different categories defined by the TIA/EIA depict the amount of attenuated signal loss versus the internal noise (crosstalk) between the twisted pairs of the cable. This is known as ACR (Attenuation to Crosstalk Ratio). Adjustments to these variables are done by thickening the actual copper and by varying the twist ratios of each pair. Cat6 uses 23AWG copper as opposed to 24AWG used in Cat5e, therefore the signal attenuates less with speed and distance. Cat6 also uses tighter twist ratios that cut down on internal crosstalk. The theory is that if your signal is stronger and there is less noise you can achieve greater ACR and therefore push more data through your cable.
While this is true, keep in mind what your objectives are here. GE was already designed for and works great over Cat5e. By the time you need to provide bandwidth above GE, you will probably be considering fiber to the desktop.
One other issue against Cat6, is that since there is such a difference between the loosest and tightest pairs, the skew delay (difference in the time it takes the signal from the loosest pair and the tightest pair to reach it?s destination) can cause some applications, such as Ethernet to time out. Cat5e doesn?t have this problem because the skew delay is typically 20ns, while Cat6 is typically 38ns. 38ns is right on the border of the ethernet spec of (40ns) before timeout. With Cat6 your longer cable runs may timeout.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Lagi satu mungkin faktor "future use" manalah tau the next technology nak pakai 5 pair pulak.
